Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September 21 1983) is an American actress best recognized for her performances as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and she moved with her mom into Los Angeles. It was a struggle to survive when she got her first role in acting as Rachel's Room's lead character. Following her win of an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal as Murder In Greenwich of 15 year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to win. Grace Rutherford, the character in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was forced to quit the series to concentrate on her acting career. She had appeared alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) in Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character on Lost for two more episodes, which included the finale of the series. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season that aired between 2013 and the year 2014. She is Faith as a girl who is a muse for celebrities and attracts the eye to Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager She began working as a small part-time actress for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko alongside her sister. Later, she was on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated to win a Golden Globe Award in both the action drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). Both films received acclaim from critics. After a string of commercially successful films, like World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). The role she played in Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child earned her nomination to an Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. The following years she was a part of comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Other roles are as an agent for The Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the lead role. Gyllenhaal made her debut as a writer and director in 2021, with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For this film she was awarded the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
